Doula Monitrice

Laboring at home, supported by expert care, can significantly enhance your birthing experience. As a doula monitrice, I specialize in providing comprehensive support that allows you to remain at home during the early stages of labor, ensuring you arrive at the hospital at the optimal time for a smoother transition.

Research shows that laboring at home longer can reduce interventions and increase the likelihood of a successful vaginal delivery. My role is to empower you with comfort techniques, emotional support, and continuous monitoring to ensure you feel confident and supported throughout your journey.

  • A doula monitrice is a professional who combines the roles of a doula and a monitrice, providing both emotional and physical support during childbirth while also offering clinical assessments typically performed by a midwife. Here's a breakdown of their roles:

    1. Doula Role: A doula provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to the mother and her partner before, during, and just after childbirth. This support may include comfort measures, guidance on positions for labor, and advocacy for the mother's birth preferences.

    2. Monitrice Role: A monitrice has additional training to perform clinical tasks such as monitoring fetal heart tones, checking maternal vital signs, and assessing cervical dilation during labor. They do not typically perform medical interventions but provide information and support based on their observations.

Together, a doula monitrice offers a holistic approach to childbirth, blending emotional support with clinical expertise to help ensure a positive and informed birth experience for the mother and her family.

Placenta Encapsulation

A natural way to nourish your mind and body during the postpartum season.

  • Placenta encapsulation is believed to offer several potential benefits to postpartum mothers, although scientific evidence supporting these claims is limited. Some reported benefits include:

    1. Hormonal Balance: Advocates suggest that consuming the placenta may help balance hormones postpartum, potentially reducing the risk of postpartum depression and anxiety.

    2. Increased Energy Levels: It is believed that placenta encapsulation can provide a natural energy boost due to its high iron content, which may help combat fatigue.

    3. Enhanced Milk Production: Some mothers report an increase in milk supply after consuming encapsulated placenta, possibly due to hormonal support.

    4. Faster Recovery: Proponents claim that placenta encapsulation aids in faster healing and recovery from childbirth due to its nutrients and purported healing properties.

    5. Emotional Well-being: Supporters suggest that consuming placenta capsules can promote a sense of well-being and emotional stability during the postpartum period.

    6. Nutrient Replenishment: The placenta is rich in nutrients such as iron, vitamins, and proteins, which may help replenish the mother's nutrient stores after childbirth.

  • TCM (Steamed)

This process involves steaming the placenta prior to dehydrating it. The idea behind this method is that in postpartum you want to have warming foods and liquids and by steaming the placenta first, you are making the capsules warm.

    Raw

This involves dehydrating the placenta on a lower temperature for a longer time with no steaming. People choose this method because they believe a lower cooking temp alters the properties of the placenta less.
